Profile of the Department

The Department of Biochemistry was started in year 1997 for men and for women in 1998. The PG and M.Phil programme was introduced in the year 2010 and 2012 respectively. The Ph.D programme in Biochemistry started in 2016. The Department has organized many seminars and workshops in past years and also actively engaged in research activities in the fields of Nanotechnology, Environmental Toxicology, Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, Clinical Biochemistry, Antioxidants, Free Radical Research and Phytochemical Research. It has got several of its alumni well placed in India and Abroad.

To provide wholesome education in the field of Biochemistry and fulfill the needs of the society.

Mission:
To develop students with knowledge and skill in the field of Biochemistry by promoting creativity, leadership qualities and preparing for lifelong learning.
