AIM:

The Aim of the Rovers in St.Josephโ€™s College of Arts and Science [Autonomous], Manjakuppam, Cuddalore, is to encourage the Physical, Intellectual, Spiritual, Social & Emotional Development of the members in the roverโ€™s crew, so that they may take up a constructive role in society as responsible citizen.

DEFINITION:

The Bharat Scouts & Guides is a voluntary, non-political, educational movement for young people, open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed, in accordance with the purpose, principles and methods conceived by the Founder Lord Baden Powell in 1907.

MISSION:

The mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.

PRINCIPLES:
The Scout /Guide Movement is based on the following principles.

DUTY TO GOD:
Adherence to spiritual principle, loyalty to the religion that expresses the acceptance of the duties resulting there from.

DUTY TO OTHERS:
Loyalty to oneโ€™s country in harmony of local and international peace, understanding, co-0peration.
Participation in the development of society with recognition and respect for dignity of oneโ€™s fellowmen and for the integrity of the natural world.

DUTY TO SELF:
Responsibility for the development of oneโ€™s self.

THE OBJECTIVES OF ROVERING ARE TO:

โ€ข Provide service to the Scout Movement
โ€ข Develop as individuals by expanding oneโ€™s range of skills
โ€ข Enjoy fellowship, social, outdoor, and cultural activities

ROVERING PROVIDES AN EXPERIENCE THAT LEADS TO A LIFE ENRICHED IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
