The basic ethics of counseling is based on confidence with promising the complete secrecy about the discussion between the counselor and the counselee. The service is intended to establish a relationship between the counselor and the students in achieving optimum educational, personal, social and adjustment development, wherein when they are not able to cope with the multifold facets of social life.

The students who come for counseling pertaining to educational mostly related to language problems, lack of concentration, lack of memory, emotional problems. Adolescence issues are also observed in few students such as misunderstanding among the friends, love affairs, and love failure. Rarely some approach counselor for Relationship delinquency with parent and society. Counselor adopts different therapies and offer guidance to pursue the students to progress effectively and to abreast in achieving academic competence as well in social life.

The educational, emotional problems of the students are guided with behavior modification therapies; the therapeutic intervention gives a chance to the students to open about him or her, past, wishes and aspirations. The process of free association brings new clarity of thoughts, relief from over-tension and a new objectivity. Counseled Students follow up is also regularly maintained.

Guidance and counseling is an associate activity of department of psychology. The students’ details regarding personal, family history are collected from each student as on when they entered as freshers in order to maintain record with separate file for respective departments.
