Research Development cell

To promote research in the college a Research Development Cell was established by Rev. Fr. Dr. I. Ratchagar, the then secretary of the college. Rev. Fr. G. Peter Rajendiram, Secretary of the college as the Chairperson and Dr. S. Joseph Christian Daniel, Head, Department of Microbiology, as the Co-ordinator.

Activities carried out by Research Development Cell

CSIR – NET/UGC-NET Exam for JRF and Lecturership

To encourage participation of students in CSIR-NET/UGC-NET Examination respective advertisement are displayed in the notice board and copies of the same have been sent to PG Departments. Syllabus and model questions are made available in the RDC and in the library. Reminders regarding the last date for applying are also sent to the Departments.

Resources

Copies of the research publications/abstracts of papers presented are made available in the cell for the ready reference of students and staffs. Research schemes/formats for applying to various projects are available in the cell as both soft copies and hard copies. A collection of reports of the projects carried out by the departments and individual staff members is being maintained in the cell. Abstracts of the projects, copies of the thesis done by the PG and M.Phil., students are also maintained.

Interdisciplinary Research

To promote Interdisciplinary cooperation in research sharing of instrumentation facilities between the Departments is made possible. Availability of instruments in various departments are made known the students and staffs. Guidance in designing disciplinary projects is provided for both staff and students.

Consultancy

Details of experienced faculty of the institution who are willing to offer consultancy in various disciplines are compiled and made available for the public through the college website.
