St.Joseph’s College of Arts and Science, Cuddalore gleams with 5(TN) Naval Unit NCC (Division II) Cuddalore. Since its inception and inauguration by commanding officer, Commander S.Murali and by the then Rev.Father Principal and Secretary A.J.Lawrence on 28th November 2005 with 30 senior division (SD boys) and  20 senior wing (SW girls) cadets ,it has been very vibrant with activities such as Boat pulling, Sailing, Firing, Ship modeling, Semaphore, parade, wind surfing , Rigging, Adventure activities, First aid, kayak and culturals with the blessings of the present principal and secretary Rev.Fr.Dr.I.Ratchagar, the unit continues to be a paradigm .

The boat pulling, sailing is practiced during weekends at Chunnambar Beach, Puducherry. Firing practiced at the Head Quarters at Puducherry. Parade training practiced at our College ground. Ship modeling practiced at 5(TN) naval unit itself. The models of the warship are made by the ship modelers

NSS

              Government of India and State Govt. with joint venture seeks young person’s to help channelise their energies and capabilities towards nation building activities by organizing them into volunteer’s groups. National Service Scheme (NSS) has a vital role to play in this regard and personality development of the Students and upliftment of society. It provides an opportunity to devote their time to the service of the nation and a sense of participation in national reconstruction and inculcation of social responsibility be created in the youth by providing creative outlet for their energies through National Service Scheme.

Youth Red Cross organization started on this college in the year 2003. The volunteers selected on the basics of service motto to the society at any situation. Our College participated and won 1st and 3rd places in an intercollegiate Dance competition, “Nanbenda”, organized by Suryan FM on 5th August, 2012 in Puducherry.

Students won 1st places in ‘Light music’ and ‘Group dance’ in an intercollegiate competition, organized by Pope John Paul College of Education, Puducherry on 10th September, 2012.

Students participated and won 1st and 2nd places in various events in an intercollegiate Cultural meet, “Festofest”, organized by Acharya College, Puducherry on 13th and 15th , September, 2012 .

An Inter-Collegiate Cultural Fiesta Zephyr’12 was organized by the Fine Arts Club. About 15 Colleges participated in it and fought it out for 15 events.  Cinema Director Mr. Prabhu Solomon was the guest of Honour.

SOCIAL SERVICE CLUB(SSC)


Social Service Club (SSC) started functioning from the year 2017. The members of this club are enrolled purely on voluntary basis from both Shift I and Shift II based on their interest towards the service to the society. SSC helps members to learn to respect people and to learn their responsibilities to serve the community.

The Women Empowerment Cell was formed to empower the women students of our college, to inculcate leadership qualities and instill self confidence in them the students(women) can approach the cell in case of any grievance to be voiced or to address any issues they might face as a woman. As a part of women Empowerment Cell, the Women grievance Redressal Cell takes up issues pertaining to the grievance of Women.

Citizen Consumer club was started during the academic year 2009.The main aim of the club is to give awareness about the consumer rights and consumer responsibilities to the club members and the society.
