The Josebyte Alumni Association is the rallying centre of the alumni of our College and a connecting link between the past and the present students. It is one of the units of the worldwide organization of the Past Students of the St.Josephโs Students Society.
The objective of the Association is threefold:
1. To foster and maintain relationship among the past students.
2. To take an active interest in the welfare of the College.
3. To assist students who may be in need of any help.
The Revived of St.Josephโs College of Arts and Science was inaugurated by his Excellency Bhisma Narain Singh, Governor of Tamil Nadu through the effort of Rev. Fr.R.Ratchagar on 11th October 1991.B.Sc Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and B.Com were established with strength of 296 students.
A number of UG and PG courses were introduced as and when need arose. At present we have UG courses viz. (Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Commerce, Bank Management, History and English.) and PG courses viz. (MCA, M.Com, M.Sc Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology).
Voluntary organization such as NSS, NCC, Rotract, Fine Arts Club, YRC, AICUF, JCI, Red Ribbon, Womenโs Cell, Blood Donors Association, Environ Club, Journalism Club, Career and Counselling Cell, Placement Cell and Health Club.
Our College is also recognized as the study centre for B.D.U and IGNOU. Students are enabled better library accessibility in a separate new building with modern facility.
NAAC visited our college in the year 2003 and graded us with B . In 2004 UGC team visited our college for the Grant of Autonomy. Rev.Fr.Dr.I.Ratchagar, Secretary, Instituted Rs.1,00,000 in Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore for an endowment Lecture on Christian studies in the name our Arch Bishop Most Rev. Dr. Antony Anandarayar.
7th March we received permanent affiliation. 17th June 2008 St.Josephโs College received Autonomous status.
Individual Alumni meeting are being conducted every year by the departments of Computer Science, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Physics and Commerce.
The Alumni meeting of PG and Research Department of Computer Science in the academic year 2011 โ 2012 was held on 17th September 2012. The Rev.Fr.Secretary , Head of the Departments and staff members chaired over the function.
It was started by 8.45 A.M. with a prayer song for giving this wonderful day. One of the UG Alumna Miss.K.SONA (2007-2010) sang a prayer song and Rev. Father welcomed the gathering with a powerful speech.

Alumni requested to develop self confidence, among students to face campus interview in the college. One of the Alumnae of batch (2009-2012) from the rural area, suggested departments to have group discussion among students to frequently develop English fluency. Alumni of UG suggested having mini project in the final year B.Sc., to be conducted by group of members instead of single one. So that ideas will be shared and able to have in-depth knowledge in group work.
After the tea break at 11:30 A.M, M.Sc Alumni of batch (2006-09), joined hands to help the students in the current batch, who were affected by THANE CYCLONE. Some suggested having seminars and workshops, to gain extra and current knowledge of the industry. Alumnus Mr.K.Muthukumaran(2007-2010) requested for intra-college competitions to improve knowledge as well as social approach. At the end of the meeting HOD wished the M.Sc Alumni for their help rendered for THANE CYCLONE.
The Alumni meeting for the academic year 2012-2013 was held on 23rd September, 2012. in M.A.Ratchagar hall. The meeting started with a prayer song at 10.00 A.M. Rev.Father Secretary Dr.I.Ratchagar felicitated the people in the meeting. Snacks and tea were provided to alumni during the break time. And the meeting ended with the vote of thanks.
Notable events of the meeting
On behalf of Alumni, Mr.Anand CEO of Krishnaswamy educational institution gave speech about โNo pain and No gainโ. UG Alumnae requested generators during power cut, to utilize the lab hours efficiently. Timing of the library and availability of library books should meet the needs of studentsโ community. They also requested more interview opportunity, and also added to have practice from II year onwards. One of the UG Alumni made a proposal to Alumni for gathering on every college day.
The Alumni meeting was started at 11.30am in the seminar hall. The program was started with a prayer song followed Thamizh Thaai Vazhthu. Welcome address was delivered by Mr.Suresh, Asst Prof, Department of Computer Application. The Vice Principal addressed the gathering and shared his ideas regarding NAAC visit. The Presidential address was given by Rev.Fr.Secretary.
Alumni of various departments participated in the meeting and offered many suggestions. Mr.Irudaya Raj[1998-2001], alumni, Department of Commerce spoke regarding the discipline and decorum of the college. He had also published a book named โADVANCED TALLYโ. He also suggests to improve the placement cell. Mr.Rajendra Prasad[1998-2001], alumnus of the Commerce Department, explained about the inculcated social responsibilities, and he is now doing his research work in agriculture. Mrs.kalaiselvi[2001-2003], head & Asst Prof, Krishnaswamy Arts and science college alumnus of Computer Science Department thanked the college and the staff members for the qualitative education and values she received. Mr.Jerald[2005-2008], Teacher, AVC high school alumnus of Computer Science Department, shared his experience of how he functioned as the president of the ROTRACT CLUB. He also highlighted the extra-curricular activities provided by the college to the students.
Mr.Hari Narayan[1999-2001], Manager, Shasun ltd emphasized the great role played by the College placement cell. Mr.Sampath[2004-2006], faculty, Pondicherry University, expressed his gratitude to the college and staff members and also offer suggestions to improve the college website and alumni association. The IQAC Coordinator, Mr.Daniel, head of the department of Microbiology, briefed his ideas regarding NAAC to the alumni.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs.Miranda, Asst Prof,Department of Computer Science. The meeting was winded up with National Anthem by 1.00pm.
