St. Joseph’s College of Arts & Science (Autonomous) Cuddalore conducted the Student Induction Program for the academic year 2025-26 for the first year students from 23rd June to 1st July 2025. The program sensitized students to the norms and conventions of the college and the higher education system in general. Sessions were conducted on Academic Environment, College Policies, Committees, Human Values, MOOCs, campus visit, Effective English and feedback. 

The Effective English Program covered fundamental areas of grammar and communication through audio-visuals, worksheets, story book reading practice, role play, quizzes and games. The ten modules taught covered verbs, to be verb, past and future tense, adjective and adverb, noun and its cases, complex sentence, perfect tense, voices, present and perfect participle, direct and indirect speech. The sessions had reading practice, vocabulary sharing (students write new words each day and share it with their groups), home-task review, grammar sessions and practice worksheets.
