The Youth Parliament Club of St. Josephโs College of Arts and Science (Autonomous), Cuddalore, was inaugurated on 22nd September 2025 at theย Rev. Fr. M.A. Ratchagar Hall. The event commenced with a soulful Prayer Song, followed by Tamizh Thaai Vaazhthu. The dignitaries then performed the traditional lighting of the Kuthuvilakku, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the ushering in of knowledge and wisdom.
Rev. Fr. Dr. M. Swaminathan, Secretary of the Institution, extended a warm felicitation to the Chief Guest of the programme, Dr. M.K. Vishnu Prasad, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Cuddalore Constituency, and honoured him with a shawl and a memento. Dr. M. Arumaiselvam, the Principal of the College, presented a special gift to the Chief Guest, while Dr. J. Jon Arockiaraj, Senior Vice Principal, felicitated Mr. S. Thilagar, Secretary to the Member of Parliament, with a shawl and a book.
The Chief Guest, Dr. M.K. Vishnu Prasad, in his address, expressed his deep gratitude and delight for being invited to the inauguration. He shared his enriching experiences in Parliament and delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking speech highlighting the importance of education, political awareness among youth, and the responsible use of social media. His engaging and insightful remarks were received with great admiration by the audience.
A total of 150 student volunteers from the Club actively participated in the programme. The meticulous arrangements for the event were coordinated by Mr. P. Malaiarasan, Dr. M.A. Mary, and Mr. A. Lenin, Assistant Professors, Department of English. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by a student volunteer, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem.
